01 - How to use the Xrite i1Display Pro to calibrate a computer monitor.

Anyone who uses a computer to display their photos should be aware that, in order to see them at their correct colours, it is essential to calibrate the computer monitor at regular intervals. For example I calibrate mine on the first day of every month.

There are a few excellent calibrators on the market and I have chosen to use the Xrite i1Display Pro that I have found gives me excellent results. However, when I first started to use it, I ran into problems because the instructions that came with it were so limited, they just confused me. I watched many videos on YouTube and soon discovered that I had quite a learning curve to go through.

However, the problem with videos, is that you have to keep pausing them in order to make notes and I find that very annoying so, I am writing this tutorial on just how I managed to master the calibrating of my own iMac monitor and I hope that other new users will find it helpful.

02 - How to password protect an MS Word (2013) document.

Password Protecting a document In Microsoft Word 2013 (for Mac) is a simple and effective means of keeping sensitive data safe from prying eyes. Microsoft Office makes a pretty good job of completing this task for you. Everyone should consider creating a password.

However, it is essential to create a strong password that consists of at least 10 characters and these should ideally be a mixture of upper & lower case letters and numbers.

Weak passwords are pretty useless because they can quite easily be discovered by those pesky Hackers.

03 - How to set the Alert sound for a SIRI reminder on an iPhone 6s

When asking SIRI to remind you of something, for example 'Remind me to turn off the oven at 1700 hours' you will get the reminder OK but the default sound that you hear will be very short and also very difficult to hear.

However, there is a way to change this alert to another sound of your own choosing and this tutorial will show you how I did this on my iPhone 6s.
